Maternity Swimwear Sewing Patterns

I can’t believe June is already halfway over! Where has time gone?! My baby is going to be two next week and our little lady will be joining us in two shorts months. Say what?!

Who is ready for summer?! Though, it’s already summer and it’s already really hot. It’s forever going to be in the triple digits over here! But when it’s summer, there is water. And when there is water, you need a swimsuit! Honestly, I’m getting tired of making swimsuits, but here are the maternity suits I’ve made this year! I still want to make a high waisted bottom in stripes in my RAD swimsuit. This will happen before I have this baby, so…stay tuned!

The Mairin Swimsuit and the Minute Maillot Swimsuit both don’t have maternity options, but I used the P4P LMU Maternity add on to hack it to be maternity friendly. You can read more about that HERE.

For a maternity swimsuit, I think the Key West is my favorite and most comfortable since it doesn’t compress too much on my growing belly and I can wear it my WHOLE pregnancy. I didn’t even use the maternity option! Tunic length with a band. I wore it last weekend when we went to Kanab, 30 weeks pregnant and it was great and still plenty of growing room. I also LOVE the Tidal Wave swim shorts. When I first made them (I’m pretty sure I was in my early 2nd trimester) they were a tad big and now they fit PERFECT and plenty of coverage. The maternity high waisted options are great for a time, but I don’t think I’ll be able to wear them for the next 2 months before the little lady comes. My legs get thicker as my pregnancy goes, so the elastic starts to get a little too snug. All the other suits are still amazzzzing but I prefer them all when I’m not pregnant, ha!

There are tons of other great maternity swimsuits, but these are just the ones I’ve made so far. 🙂
