Joggerathon – Rockerbye – Jammin Joggers
We are going to keep things moving along with the second pair of regular fit joggers for part 2! Up next is the Jammin Joggers from Rockerbye Destash. You can choose from mid thigh, knee-high, calf length or full length. Waistbands are: Regular, Yoga & Cross Over. The Jammin Joggers are a UNISEX jogger pattern, so keep that in mind. The size chart is based off of American society for testing and materials (ASTM), who have a standard measurement chart for average bodies and sizes. As you can tell from looking at the chart, it’s more of a straight block rather than women’s sizing like all the other pairs of joggers I’ve made in the series.
Fabric for this pair is from Rockerbye! Yup, they have fabric too!

Price: $10.00
Size Range: 11 sizes // 00-36/38 // 32″-68″ hip
Options Sewn:
- B/W Pair: Ankle Length, Slate hips graded to Rose for the legs. Did not adjust the inseam. Since my waist is a lot smaller and not on the size chart, I shortened the height of the waistband in order to add 2″ elastic.
- Sunset Pair: Slate hips, attempted to grade down to Olive for the waist and graded the legs out to Sapphire at the calves (the calve measurements have since been updated)
My Measurements:
- Waist – 27
- High Hip – 31
- Hip – 36
- Upper Thigh – 21
- Inseam – 28
- Height – 5’4
A little preface: I actually sewed two pairs of these joggers. The first go around was not good! But I ended up reaching out to the designer and we got things sorted out and the calf measurements were off (which has since been updated). Since I’ve been grading each pattern per my measurements, this originally had my calves like 3-4 sizes bigger than my hips! So the finished product was a super straight leg. I reached out and the calf was slightly off but also you don’t need to base measurements off the calves since it’s a relaxed fit. Sewed a new pair and it’s much better! <3 I’ll show you both of the fits below.
Fabric
The first pair I made is the Sunset French Terry from Mily Mae Fabric. I actually wasn’t 100% about this fabric color when I first got it but I really like it sewn up! I also made an extra effort to stripe match all the different pieces. Success!
The fabric I used for the second pair is the custom printed French Terry from Rockerbye Destash. It has 280 gsm and is super stretchy!
Recommended Fabric: Knit fabric with at least 30% stretch. Knit fabric with 5% spandex for bands
Instructions
Were the instructions easy to follow?
- The instructions for the actual pattern weren’t too bad
- For the pocket instructions, it doesn’t actually say that you need the side panel piece in the “this is what you need” section. It mentions you need the “whole pocket piece with the top flipped down”. I have no idea what this means, but I guess it means the side panel. A little bit of poor labeling for the pocket instructions.
- Also, regarding the pocket instructions, it says you can have your pocket slant going in either direction but doesn’t actually say which is which. So basically you have to go back to the pattern pieces and see how it should be oriented
Pattern
DID IT LOOK LIKE THE PATTERN PHOTO/DRAWING ON THE PATTERN ONCE YOU WERE DONE SEWING?
It looks similar to the line drawing but the photos that I’ve seen online have been all over the place from relaxed to more fitted.
WHAT DID YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT THE PATTERN?
- Since these are unisex pants, I definitely have extra room in the crotch
- The side panel seems like it is too far to the back and I’d rather it moved more towards the front.
- The side panel is SO thick! It looks fine at my hip but it wraps around basically my whole leg towards the bottom and I don’t really like that, especially in a contrasting fabric. (It’s wayyyyy more drastic looking on my hubby! Scroll down!)
- The look/design of the pocket is different and fun though!
WOULD YOU SEW IT AGAIN? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS?
I probably would not sew them again for me, but I might sew them again for my hubby (just not in contrasted fabric)! If you want a unisex pair of joggers, these definitely might be for you.
Have you sewn up the Jammin Joggers? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know in the comments below! If you missed the Java Joggers from Peekaboo Patterns, you can check that out by clicking HERE. Don’t forget to come back tomorrow for the Redwood Joggers from Sew Like My Mom!
Cheers!

I’ve never seen this pattern before and like how it’s a unisex option. I understand the reason for the style lines. but like you, I’d feel strange with the pocket wrapping so far to the back of my leg. Is hubby okay with this slim fit? I feel like it would look better on him sized up and a bit more relaxed. But if he’s comfortable as is, that’s all that matters.

Hubby likes this pair for wearing under ski pants but I’m sure he also wouldn’t mind a sightly more relaxed pair for more of an everyday wear haha. The legs are 2 sizes smaller than his measurements and the hips are one size down. This fabric is SUPER stretchy, so if it had less stretch, he definitely wouldn’t like them haha but they are definitely french terry man leggings on him
