P4P – Fierce Bra – Single Strap Hack
The Fierce Bra from Patterns for Pirates is one of my favorites! Well, let’s be real. It’s probably my favorite, but it has to be with my single strap hack. Now, this doesn’t necessarily make the construction easier, but I do love the finished product a million times better. If I’m working out outside, I’m all for the least amount of tan lines and the crossover back is SO cute.
The main thing you need to be careful with when doing this hack is making sure the straps don’t twist when you are sewing them on. And let me tell you, I still haven’t mastered it in one go. So you might need to have your seam ripper handy…just in case.
You can try avoid this by pinning the end of one strap first, pinning the center of the strap to the center front of the bra (making sure the straps are laying properly and not twisted) and then pin the other end of the strap to the bra. Don’t unpin the center though! I did this and managed to get twisty straps, which was super annoying.
