Fabric
I used Blush Pink Solid French Terry from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. This is a medium weight, 95/5 cotton spandex blend that is 10-11 oz. It has a 4-way stretch with 70% horizontal and 50% vertical stretch.
Recommended Fabric: Medium to heavyweight knits for main. Cuffs and bands need at least 20% stretch
Instructions
Were the instructions easy to follow?
- No issues with the main instructions
- The instructions has a size chart for the thighs but it’s not included on the main size chart (and on a different page), which is annoying to me since it’s easily skipped. I would prefer all size charts be included on the same page.
Pattern
DID IT LOOK LIKE THE PATTERN PHOTO/DRAWING ON THE PATTERN ONCE YOU WERE DONE SEWING?
For the most part, yes it looks like the photos on the listing. However, some people didn’t have as much excess at the ankles as I did.
WHAT DID YOU PARTICULARLY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT THE PATTERN?
- One big thing to keep in mind is this pattern has no layers.
- The pattern has a 28″ inseam (same as mine) but there is so much excess at my ankle! I could have easily shortened them by 2″. Maybe it’s a design element and it’s supposed to be super bunchy at the ankle?
- I don’t love how high the front rise is. I would have liked them a little better if it was a little shorter. It feels like I could almost pull up the front higher than the back.
- I really like the way these fit through the hip and legs. Definitely more of a slim fit though IMO (which is what I prefer anyway!)
- Since these are more fitted, I would have preferred more of the reverse patch pocket instead of the one with a pocket bag. Too much bulky fabric.
- I hate that the pocket is squared! I definitely prefer a rounded pocket (on the inside) for joggers.
WOULD YOU SEW IT AGAIN? WOULD YOU RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS?
Other than the super long inseam and slightly too long front rise, these are a pretty good fit. I’m not sure I would sew them again but they aren’t bad. Regarding recommendation, there are other jogger patterns that are cheaper with more options that I would probably recommend before this one.
Have you sewn up the Skye Joggers? What are your thoughts? I’d love to know in the comments below! If you missed the Diane Joggers from 5 out of 4 yesterday, you can check those out by clicking HERE. Be sure to come back tomorrow for the Brassie Joggers from Greenstyle Creations!
Cheers!
